All the good things come in pairs, so my DJ-ing in Buenos Aires continued. This time I was invited to play music in milonga Seguime…si podes, in Club Fulgor de Villa Crespo.
Club Fulgor (with a longer name Club Social y Deportivo Fulgor de Villa Crespo – Loyola 828) has a lot of history. It is a club which was originally founded by maestro Osvaldo Pugliese and some other people, so it is no wonder that the dancefloor is called “la pista Osvaldo Pugliese”. It is a combination of a sports and a dance club, with many events going on every day of the week.
Wednesday is the day for milonga Seguime…si podes, organized by Marithe Lujan and Emanuel Orlando. It is a very nice milonga, with excellent younger dancers, most of them are regular visitors of the milonga. It was a special night with two shows of five dancing couples alltogether. The show of the night was by Sebastian Acosta & Laura D’Anne: Sebastian Acosta was the world champion of tango salon in 2014, so you can imagine that it was a really good performance!
The dancefloor was full all the time and people were enjoying the milonga.
The music had to be different from the music played in Milonga Parakultural in Salon Canning: the dancers at this milonga love very traditional music, so music had to be mostly from Troilo, Tanturi, Di Sarli, D’Arienzo and Pugliese. And there was no place for the old music – guardia vieja (which I love, but unfortunately cannot play in Argentina…).
I really enjoyed playing music here: as I am a big fan of Osvaldo Pugliese and his music, it was definitely a unique experience to be able to play music in his club and on his dancefloor.
