What an unforgettable experience we had at the BALKANICO Tango Fest 2025! This vibrant and soulful event, masterfully co-organised by Beltango Quinteto from Belgrade & Sarajevo Tango Festival from Sarajevo, brought together tango lovers from across the region and beyond for four spectacular days of music, dance, and connection.
Held in the scenic and unique Etno Village Stanišići, nestled at the border of Bosnia, Serbia, and Croatia, the location added a magical backdrop to the entire festival. Surrounded by traditional wooden houses, cobblestone paths, and peaceful lakes, the village felt like a step back in time—yet it pulsed with the rhythm of tango day and night.
A Festival to Remember
The festival featured a perfectly balanced program of:
- Daily and night milongas in stunning indoor and outdoor venues
- Workshops with inspiring and talented teachers:
– Maja & Marko from Zagreb, Croatia
– Esref & Vanessa from Istanbul, Turkey
– Agostina Tarchini from Argentina - Live music by the one and only Beltango Quinteto, who brought their powerful, passionate sound to the dance floor.
It was a joy to meet again with Alex Nikolić, the director of Beltango Quinteto, whose energy and dedication continue to inspire the tango community. His musical vision gave the festival a unique identity that we will carry with us for a long time.
Tango Without Borders
BALKANICO was not just a festival—it was a true meeting point of cultures. Dancers and musicians came from many countries, creating a beautiful, warm atmosphere of openness and connection. Whether on the dance floor, during meals, or in quiet moments in the village, you could feel the shared love for tango bringing everyone together.
We danced until the early hours, made new friends, reconnected with old ones, and immersed ourselves in the magic of tango in a place where three countries meet—and where music knows no borders.
