Today we say goodbye to Pope Francis — the first pope from Argentina, a man known for his humility, warmth, and profoundly human spirit. Born in Buenos Aires, he never lost his connection to the culture of his homeland. He loved tango — the music and the dance that also lives in my own heart.
In an interview, he once smiled and said that his favourite tango orchestra was Juan D’Arienzo — the king of rhythm. That same energy, drive, and passion were part of him, too.
Instead of a typical tribute, I’m sharing this short video where he speaks about it himself:
Rest in peace, Pope Francis — a porteño who never stopped loving tango.
